PURPOSE:To realize an efficient usage of plural tape cassettes with a minimum handling operation in the system housing the plural tape cassettes and loading them on a tape driving part with an exchange system. CONSTITUTION:Plural combined information of a cassette selecting information about which one among the plural tape cassettes is selected and a mode setting information to select an operation mode of the tape driving part 11, are stored in a storage part 17. Furthermore the device is constituted so that the cassette selection and the mode setting can be performed by one operation based on the combined information in this storage part 17.
