<p>PURPOSE: To provide a device and a method for detecting disconnection of a cable and switching the cable which are very useful for the transmission and reception of data to be communicated quickly by immediately and automatically detecting the presence/absence of another line and checking the line when a used line is disconnected. CONSTITUTION: On the transmission side, a microcomputer 1 which controls the presence/absence of abnormality in lines, a warning display 3 which displays a warning when the disconnection of a line occurs, a transmitting signal processing section 4, a multichannel demultiplexer 5 which performs demultiplexing operations, and a trnasmission-side cable connecting section 6 are provided. On the reception side, in addition, a microcomputer 9, a reception-side cable connecting section 9, a reception- side multichannel demultiplexer 10, and a signal receiving and processing section 12 are provided. the transmission and reception sides are connected to each other through a multicore transmission line 7 containing a main circuit 7-1 and a standby circuit 7-2 and automatic checking of disconnection and automatic switching to the standby circuit 7-2 are realized through the demultiplexer 5 and demultiplexer 10.</p> |
