PURPOSE:To obtain an air filter with no crack and leakage and a method for assembly thereof by filling a sealing agent between a zigzag folded filter pack and boats for the top and the bottom frames. CONSTITUTION:A separator 12 is placed in each folded space of a zigzag folded filter material 11 in a filter pack 10. Side frames 20a and 20b are fixed on both sides of a filter pack 10 and a top and a bottom frame 30a and 30b are fixed on the top and the bottom thereof and a sealing agent such as a urethane resin and a silicone resin is poured between a boat 31b of the bottom frame 30b and the filter pack 10. The sealing agent flows into a channel 32b of the central part of the bottom frame 30b through the gaps of the filter material 11, fills sufficiently the channel 32b and flows out to the opposite side or the bottom frame 30b. When the sealing agent is solidified, the air filter is turned upside down and the sealing agent is filled in the top frame 30a in the same way as the bottom frame 30b. As the sealing agent flows uniformly therein, generation of cracks caused by partial concn. of forces can be prevented. The above described method for assembly makes the manufacturing process simple. |
