PURPOSE:To control the total light quantity and the like of each LED array block with a high accuracy by providing a changeover means and the like for changing over a generated strobe signal to a signal line and distributing it to the LED array block having its turn to emit a light. CONSTITUTION:A switching circuit 26 connected to each LED array block 8 turns ON/OFF a switch in accordance with a strobe signal STB 1 received from a decoder 25 to change a lighting time of the LED array block 8 in accordance with its luminance. At this time, a driver circuit 15 for the respective LED array blocks 8 tries to pass a drive current to LED elements only when image data stored in a latch circuit 13 is high, that is, a light emission is required. However, the drive current cannot flow unless one end of the LED array block 8 is grounded with the switching circuit 26 ON. Namely, the elements of the LED array block 8 can light only when a strobe signal is low and the image data is high. |
