PURPOSE:To provide a sorter equipped with a reversing mechanism which permits the reduction of the dimension of a body and permits the execution of the paper discharge operation having high reliability. CONSTITUTION:As for a sorter equipped with a reversing mechanism which is equipped with a plurality of paper discharge trays 4 and 5 which are arranged in the longitudinal form, and equipped with a paper transporting means and a paper reversing means, one (the first paper discharge tray 4) among a plurality of paper discharge trays is provided with the function of an intermediate tray arranged in a switch back transport passage B for reversed paper discharge.
