PURPOSE:To provide a variable torque capacity type torque converter, which can be easily mounted on a shielding plate, and which is provided with a weight which does not fall off. CONSTITUTION:A folded part 4a is provided on the front end part of a shielding plate 4 in a torque converter provided with a pump 1 connected to an input shaft for transmitting the drive force from a prime mover, a pump blade mounted on the pump 1, a turbine connected to an output shaft for transmitting the drive force to a transmission, a turbine blade mounted on the turbine, and with the shielding plate 4 mounted on the pump 1 to change the channel cross section of a fluid. |
