PURPOSE:To conduct a profile emphasis processing with a good balance in both main- and sub-scanning directions when an input image is a frame image and conduct a profile emphasis processing without a deterioration of a smoothness of oblique lines when an input image is a field image. CONSTITUTION:A change-over switch is operated in accordance with an input image, i.e., a frame image or a field image. If the input image is a field image, the data is subjected to interpolation processing by a framing simulation part 16, converted to a frame image, and subjected to a profile emphasis processing only in a main scanning direction by a profile correction circuit 23. On the other hand, if the input image is a frame image, the data is subjected to a profile emphasis processing in both main- and sub-scanning directions by the profile correction circuit 23 to be printed out. |
