PURPOSE:To control the progress of crack generated in a heat affected zone and to improve joint strength. CONSTITUTION:A member 2 is inserted and fitted into a hollow member 1 outside a joint. Thereafter, heating is performed on the overalapped part of both members 1, 2 from the outer part of the outside hollow member 1, and both members 1, 2 are melted and joined. At this time, welding such as an electron beam, laser, plasma arc, and resistance welding is performed longitudinally (welding length L, depth d) in the axial direction of the joint. The welding part 3 may be either a continuous part or an intermittent one. |
