PURPOSE:To accurately adjust the printing width in a main scanning direction regardless of components of a recording medium or an environment in relation to an electrophotographic recorder for transferring a toner image to the surface of a photosensitive body to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A parallel line recording means 3 controls the output of a light 1a from a light emitting body 1 so as to record straight lines on a recording medium 10 in parallel to each other at predtermined intervals along the feed direction of the recording medium 10. The parallel lines recorded on the recording medium 10 are read by a sensor 4 Based on signals from the sensor 4, the gaps between the parallel lines are detected by a line gap detection means 5. An error value calculation means 6 compares the detection value with the predetermined interval to calculate an error value. On the other hand, a rotational speed detection means 7 detects a present rotational speed of a polygon mirror 2. A rotational speed control means 8 correctively controls the present rotational speed of the polygon mirror 2 in accordance with the error value. |
