PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a rotary machine by increasing the strengths of a metal of a bearing, a key, a seal member, a blade, a valve rod or the like. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary machine such as a stem turbine, in which a rotary shaft 2 is supported by a metal 6 of a slide bearing 5, the surface of the bearing metal 6 on which the rotary shaft 2 bears is made of a material which is conformable with the rotary shaft 2, such as a porous oil-impregnated bearing material or a low friction coefficient material. Further, the bearing metal 6 is formed, on the side remote from the side on which the rotary shaft 2 bears on, of a material which has a strength enough to bear against a load transmitted from the rotary shaft 2. Further, the zone between the materials is made of an inclining function material in which the afore-mentioned materials are mixed together in such a ratio that gradually changes. Further, a casing fixing key, a seal member between a static part and a movable part, a turbine blade, a valve rod for a steam control valve and the like are also made of similar inclining function materials. |
