PURPOSE:To produce chemical reactivation active carbon with good yield excelling in adsorptive performance for gasoline, organic solvent, etc., in gas phase. CONSTITUTION:In a method wherein a woody raw material is impregnated and kneaded with a chemical reactivation agent at a temperature of from room temperature to 200 deg.C and then after the impregnated material is granulated as necessary, the granulated material is heated and roasted at 500-700 deg.C to produce active carbon, the oxygen concentration in atmospheric gas at the time of roasting at 200-400 deg.C is made to >=5vol.% and the oxygen concentration in an atmosphere at the time of roasting at >400 deg.C is adjusted to <5vol.%. |
