PURPOSE: To allow a passenger to request a second cage before a first cage arrives so as to shorten waiting time of the passenger, by making a load sensor detect a load of the first cage and compute an acceptable number of passengers, and displaying the number on a display device. CONSTITUTION: When a passenger waiting for an elevator on a floor pushes a first hall button 5, in order to respond to the request, a control means allocates a first suitable cage and drives a first driving means 11, so that the first cage runs to the waiting floor. At this time, a load sensor 1 detects a load of the first cage, the control means 2 detects an acceptable number of passengers based on the detected value, and a display device 9 displays a computing result. When the display shows before arrival of the first cage that some passengers cannot take the first cage, the passenger can push a second hall button 6 to allow the control means 2 to allocate a second suitable cage and to drive a second driving means 12, so that the second cage runs to the waiting floor. |
