PURPOSE: To obtain a printed matter wherein visual recognition and disappearance of a pattern is possible in accordance with the angle between the plane of the printed matter and a visual point by incorporating an optically reflective scale-like particle respectively with a specified hiding power or a specified mean particle diameter into an ink or a coating by a specified ratio in terms of solid content. CONSTITUTION: A plate 2 with a pattern consisting of recessed parts 3, protruded parts 4 or cutouts 5 is arranged on a face plate 1 of a screen printing machine. A base material 6 for printing is laminated on the plate 2 and after the base material 6 for printing is brought into intimate contact with the face plate 2 or the plate 2, screen printing is performed with an ink or a coating 7. In this case, an optically reflective scale-like particle with a hiding power of at most 15,000 cm<2> /g or a mean particle diameter of at least 5μm is incorporated in the ink, etc. 7 by 5-60 wt.% in terms of solid content. It is possible thereby to obtain a printed matter wherein a pattern can be recognized and the pattern disappears in accordance with the angle between the plane of the printed matter and a visual point.
