A highly crystalline vitamin D derivative represented by general formula (I), and a process for producing a highly pure 22-oxavitamin D derivative by hydrolyzing the above compound, wherein R1 represents optionally hydroxylated linear or branched C4-C9 alkyl, and R2 and R3 may be the same or different from each other and each represents acyl.
