<p>PURPOSE:To improve the contact between a head and a tape and to polish the sliding surface of the magnetic head to form the optimum shape by pressing the magnetic tape or polishing tape to a rotary cylinder or rotary jig by a compressed gas. CONSTITUTION:A gas outflow port 5 is disposed in a position where the rotary cylinder 3 holds the magnetic tape 7. The compressed gas 9 is made to flow out to press the magnetic tape 7 to the magnetic head 4 with an optimum pressure, by which the magnetic tape is made to travel. The sliding surface of the magnetic head 4 is fixed to the position projecting from the polishing surface of the polishing tape set in a tape traveling system of the magnetic head polishing device. A gas outflow port 5 is disposed in the position where the polishing tape is held by the rotary jig. The compressed gas is made to flow out of this port and while the polishing tape is pressed to the rotary jig by the optimum pressure, the magnetic head is polished. As a result, the contact between the magnetic head and the tape is improved and the optimum shape of the sliding surface of the magnetic head is formed.</p> |
