PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst filter for an engine capable of removing a harmful component and dust at one time, facilitating the cleaning of dust by the back washing of the filter, activating the catalyst in a low rotation region of the engine, and improving the durability of the catalyst even in a high rotation region of the engine. CONSTITUTION:The catalyst consistuted of one or more kinds of platinum, palladium, rhodium, and iridium is deposited on a stainless steel narrow tube 11, and the tube 11 is wound around a basket-like frame 14. This catalyst filter has a detector for detecting the revolving speed of an engine and a control valve for supplying and exhausting gas. With this equipment, when the revolving speed of the engine becomes a low region, a part of high-temp. exhaust gas is passed through the stainless steel narrow tube 11 as bypass to heat the tube. When the revolving speed of the engine becomes a high region, low-temp. supply gas is partly passed through the pipe as a bypass to prevent the abnormal high-temp. state of the catalyst stainless tube. |
