PURPOSE:To obtain a foamed polyurethane having a persistent antibacterial, antimildew and deodorizing function and to provide a process for its production. CONSTITUTION:A finely pulverized organic antibacterial/antimildew agent and a finely pulverized organic deodorizing agent are added to a stock polyol and further mixed with a blowing agent, a foam stabilizer and a catalyst, and the resulting mixture is foamed to obtain a foamed polyurethane. The finely pulverized antibacterial/antimildew agent can be obtained by dissolving first an imidazole antimildew agent such as 2-methoxycarbonylaminobenzimidazole or 2-methylcarbonylaminobenzimidazole and a carbamate or phthalimide antibacterial agent in ethanol, evaporating the solution, and finely pulverizing the dried product. The finely pulverized deodorizing agent can be obtained by forming a solution of a clathrate formed by trapping a deodorizing agent extracted from plants, such as a flavonoid or catechin, in cyclodextrin, allowing silica or zeolite as an inorganic porous substance to adsorb the solution, drying the product, and finely dividing the dried product. By the use of the finely divided organic agents, the antibacterial effect can be attained without detriment to the foamability. |
