METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING PURGE MATERIAL REMAINING IN CYLINDER OF MOLDING MACHINE AFTER MOLDING OF RESIN

PURPOSE:To reuse the resin remaining in the cylinder of a molding machine after the molding of the resin by taking out the resin remaining in the cylinder as a purge material and rolling the purge material into a thin sheet before the curing of the purge material and cutting the thin sheet into an elongated stripe form before shredding the same into a pellet form. CONSTITUTION:A fixed blade 10 having a semicylindrical upper surface is arranged under grooved rollers 7 and the cutting edges 11a of rotary blades 11 are cooperated with the cutting edges 10a of the fixed blade 10 to form a cutter. The stripe like parts peeled from the grooved rollers 7 by scraping blades 8 are guided to the gaps between the cutting edges 10a of the fixed blade 10 and the cutting edges 11a of the rotary blades 11. The rotary blades 11 are rotationally driven by a drive device and the stripe like parts 9 of a purge material are cut into short pellets by the action of the rotary blades 11 and the fixed blade 10. The resulting resin pellets are not bulky and can be easily melted because they are finely cut and are convenient to reutilize.
