摘要 PURPOSE: To print a desired image having a desired gray scale part by discharging liquid ink small droplets to arrange dots on paper within a series of parallel lines and arranging dots in the respective lines of a series of parallel lines in a distribution state of a random interval. CONSTITUTION: A buffer 22 is loaded with one line of the encoded data of a gray scale constituted of one word with respect to each of cells. A counter 30 is set to 0 at the start point of time of a printing cycle and the first word of gray scale data is sent to a comparator 26 through the counter 30 and, at the same time, off-load of a corresponding random number, for example, from 0 to 63 is started. When the random number is larger than a 5-bit word value of data, the comparator 26 outputs 1. When the number of bits sent to a shift register 32 becomes equal to the width of the cell, the address of the buffer 22 is advanced and this process is repeated until 1 and 0 of one segment comprising the dot area of one segment on the line of the cell to be printed are applied to the shift register 32 and a latch 34 is loaded with line data of 1 and 0 by a latch command.
