A camera housing for use with rolls of standard or non-standard light-sensitive film in order to take a series of pictures in different formats while changing formats between exposures and without wasting any light-sensitive material, said formats being selected by the user to suit the view to be photographed. The housing comprises an assembly for initially receiving the take-up (18) and feed (19) spools on the same side of the exposure chamber, then moving them to opposite sides thereof over all or part of the maximum chamber length, depending on the selected format. A control is used for setting and winding forward the blank film, rewinding the exposed film, and ensuring operational safety. This camera housing enables pictures of below-standard format up to panoramic format to be taken, and centring and focusing may be performed either on a groud glass disk (11d) on the image focal plane, or by telemetric viewfinding (11a).
