PURPOSE:To provide a picture signal processing unit able to confirm a picture picked up by an electronic still camera without the use of an external device. CONSTITUTION:The processing unit is provided with a serial parallel conversion circuit 2 transferring externally picture element information of an image pickup element converted into digital data without changing information content and information quantity, an SCSI I/F3, an interleave circuit 6 interleaving picture element data in a prescribed color of picture element information from the image pickup element, an SSG 13 generating a video signal based on the interleaved picture element data at the interleave circuit 6, a start bit detection circuit 5, a memory 7, a D/A converter 8, an LPF 9, an adder circuit 10, and a driver circuit 11 outputting the generated video signal and an image pickup picture of the electronic still camera is quickly confirmed without processing by an external device. |
