POLYMERPOLYOL, ITS PRODUCTION, AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a polymerpolyol which has a high concentration and yet a low viscosity and a good dispersion stability, and also improved curability by polymerizing an ethylenic monomer in a specific polyol in the presence of a specific chain transfer agent. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenic monomer (e.g. acrylonitrile) is polymerized in a polyol containing no polymerizable C-C double bond [e.g. poly(oxypropylene- oxyethylene)triol obtained by addition-polymerizing glycerol with propylene oxide and then ethylene oxide (hydroxyl value; 55mgKOH/g)] in the presence of an aliphatic tertiary amine (e.g. triethylamine or N,N-diethylethanolamine) as a chain transfer agent. Thus, a polymerpolyol can be obtained which has a high concentration and yet a low viscosity and good dispersion stability, and also improved curability. By using the polymerpolyol, a polyurethane foam excellent in properties including hardness can be obtained.
