The system, e.g. for corrugated sheet metal (5) and a layer (10) of insulating material resting on top of its ribs, covered by an outer sealing layer (11), consists of a series of connectors (17), each with a thrust plate (18) and a shank (21) which passes through the layer of insulating material and, if necessary the outer sealing layer. At the tip of the shank there is a locking element (24), which can be a screw fitting into a threaded hole in the shank end or a threaded cap fitting over it. The thrust plate of each connector is attached to a flat surface on a rib of the corrugated metal sheet by a layer of adhesive in the form of a flat disc with a protective film layer over the adhesive on one side. ADVANTAGE - Improved fixing of roofing material layers without having to pierce corrugated metal sheet or resorting to welding.
