The rear wheel steering assembly (P) rotary motor (M) drives a train (Q) to move the steering shaft (5) axially. The motor drives a reduction gear (R) and converter (D), converting rotary to linear motion. The reduction gear is an endless screw and nut (3). The converter is a male screw (200) and female element (300), with trapezoidal threads. The male and female threads (200a,300a) mesh and one is driven by the endless screw and nut, whilst the other is fixed to the steering shaft. Male and female may be tubular and concentric with the shaft. ADVANTAGE - Simple structure, of reduced size and cost. Safe in the event of breakages, without needing increased motor output.
