发明名称 Control of combustion air flow in cross-flame furnaces e.g. for melting glass - air flow is slowed or accelerated in burner port or chamber inlet by stream of gas of cross-section equal to or less than that of air flow duct
摘要 In a new procedure for achieving the required distribution of combustion air in regenerative cross-flame furnaces, at least a part of the air flow in the air pre-heater is throttled by an opposing stream of gas. This throttling takes place in an area of relatively high dynamic pressure level such as a flow duct preferably in the form of a burner port or a chamber inlet. The area of the opposing gas stream is approximately equal to, or less than, the cross sectional area of the duct. Also claimed is a procedure for increasing and especially for partially increasing, the velocity of the combustion air in a similar manner but using a stream of air moving in the same direction as the combustion air flow. Also claimed is a device for carrying out the above procedures, in which a gas duct or lance is provided in the air preheater area and has a control device such as a solenoid valve opening towards the combustion chamber. USE/ADVANTAGE - For achieving the required combustion air distribution in cross-flame furnaces such as are used e.g. for melting glass. Modern cross-flame furnaces achieve the required combustion air distribution by the use of separate burner regenerator chambers. This invention allows the disadvantages of a cross-flame.
