A vibration damping device for vehicle chassis has a carrier connected to a vibrating, sound projecting wall section, and supports a vibration and sound absorbing mass. The carrier is a fluid sealed container ie. a plastics hose, (2) with two opposing openings (3,3'). These are closed via an elastic membrane (4,4'), and the mass is the fluid sealed in the container. The plastics pipe container lies adjacent to the wall element via a wall section. The pipe container has the two openings as the pipe endfaces.
