Appts. for repair welding of the tips of guide vanes and runner blades of turbomachines - incorporating notched jaws with an adjustable gap

The appts. for repair welding of turbine blades (1) incorporates cooled jaws (2,3) clamping the blade so that the worn blade tip protrudes above the jaws. The appts. is characterised in that the entry and exit edges (A1, A2) of the blade body (5) engage in the respective bearing notches (K1,K2) of the jaws (2,3), with one jaw (2) fixed and the other (3) movable against the blade edge (A2). The notches (K1,K2) are located at the vertices of cutouts in the jaw faces. These cutouts have diverging shape, so that their side surfaces do not contact the blade sides. The fixed jaw (2) carries an adjustable plate (6) forming a stop for the blade end. Such a plate is attachable/releasable by magnetic means. The blade is pressed against the plate (6) by means of a thrust element (7). The jaws (2,3) are made of copper, and are cooled by circulation of a cooling agent (water, for example). USE/ADVANTAGE - For repair of worn turbine blades. The relatively simple appts. enables blades with different geometries to be welded under precisely predeterminable local cooling conditions.
