The selection system uses a display monitor, providing a visual image of the face of the spectacles wearer, and a computer allowing superimposition of a line representation of different spectacles frames. The line pattern is provided as a number of individual line elements and can be used to display the contour (21) of the spectacles lenses (22, 23) instead of the spectacles frame. Pref. different shape spectacles lenses which can each be used with a universal spectacles frame are superimposed of the image of the face in turn. ADVANTAGE - Allows spectacles to be individually optimised for each wearer.
