Appts. for preparing and joining yarn ends - features friction surface made of segment pairs located on both sides of joining zone and made of two opposite single segments

The appts. incorporates several curved body pairs which are arranged in pairs, move in different directions and are equipped with spiral friction linings. Devices are provided for adjusting the friction force and fibre length in addition to yarn clamps. The unit features segment pairs (10,11) on both sides of the joining zone (1) as a friction surface. Each segment pair consists of two opposite individual segments (10a, 10b; 11a, 11b) and can be moved radially towards each other. Inside the joining zone (1), there are opposite guide lamellas (5,6). The front lamellas (5) are tiltable and the rear lamellas (6) are fixed. The free lamella ends feature notches (7). ADVANTAGE - The prepn. of the yarn ends can be effected with an exact adaptation to the yarn material and with good control.
