Plan substrate comprises nutrient carriers and a largely inert, stable basic framework of coal ashes. Pref. the coal ashes have particle sizes of 0.06-20 mm. Te basic framework also contains clay. The nutrient carrier is compost, bovine humus, fowl manure or recycled prods. The substrate also contains an amt. of turf. USE/ADVANTAGE - The plant substrate can be used e.g. as a soil container, as an aid for growth of plants of roofs and walls and generally for use in aiding growth of young plants. The substrate shows good water retention, stability and erosion resistance. It is environmentally friendly.
