The device has an acoustic or X-ray imaging device for locating a calculus to be treated and an acoustic wave generator providing acoustic waves focussed onto the detected calculus, with a tracking device allowing the focus to be corrected to match any displacement of the calculus. The location system has at least one further sensor device detecting an extracorporeal measurable parameter of the patient's body, providing an output signal which is fed to the tracking device.
