Injection-moulded plastic temp. sensor, e.g. for IC engine - with resistive temp. sensor, integrated connector flange and mounting

The temp. sensor has connector contacts (1, 2) soldered to the temperature sensing resistor (3) and placed in an injection mould. A housing comprising a contact holder (5), connector flange (4) and jacket (6) is formed by injecting plastic material, carbon- or glass-fibre reinforced polyamide. A fixing flange (8) may also be formed. The plastic jacket is 0.2 to 0.5 mm thick. The temp. sensor may be installed in a thermostat valve housing using an O-ring for sealing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Internal combustion engine temperature sensor. Robust construction, no corrosion, can be installed in hot or cold water channels.
