In the condenser a cooling water is directed into the canal section for introducing a fan of spray water jets (74) into the section for condensing the moisture guided along in the process air. The fan is aligned across the flow direction and the spray water jets (74) hit at least one opposite wall (75,76) of the canal section (71). The cooling water nozzle (72) has a passage cross section for maximum 0.2 1/m of cooling water at a conducting pressure of 400 kPa and a fan angle of at least 120 deg.. ADVANTAGE - The efficiency of the condenser is improved as a result of an intensive contact between the process air and the cooling air.
