Barriers for sports grounds

A barrier primarily for use at public sports grounds comprises a number of resilient barrier elements (10). Each barrier element consists of a resilient cushion (12) overlaid with a flexible cover (30) which encloses the cushion and which is removably anchored to the ground. The cushion is such as to reduce the possibility of injury to players colliding with the barrier, and the barrier elements can replace advertising boards, in that they can themselves carry advertising material (32).
