A method of preparing an aluminum substrate for lithographic printing plate comprises a brush-graining step which comprises surface-roughening an aluminum plate with at least two kinds of brushes whose bristles have different diameters. The lithographic printing plate prepared using the aluminum substrate brush-grained by the foregoing method hardly causes, on a printing press, background contamination and narrowing and/or collapse of the shadowed portion thereof. Therefore, the printing plate can easily be handled even by an inexperienced person and can stably provide high quality copies as compared with conventional printing plates. <IMAGE> |
