<p>An aqueous coating composition with excellent adhesion and waterproof properties is prepared by copolymerizing an alkoxysilane compound, a hydrophilic monomer, and a hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer at a specific ratio in an organic solvent, and then substituting the organic solvent with aqueous medium. The copolymerization reaction is stable, and the aqueous composition, which is a solution or dispersion, does not contain any substances to deteriorate the water resistance of the resulting film.</p> |
