Depolymerized deoxyribonucleic acid containing weight amounts of purine and pyrimidine bases such that the related molar ratio purines/pyrimidines is comprised within a determined range and having moreover molecular weights limited to a determined range of values of less than 100,000 are endowed with remarkable hair stimulating activity.
