Date Mar. 19, 1992.A metering container for viscous liquids has a container space enclosed by a container wall and a substantially circular mouthpiece at the lower surface of the container space having a wall with a slot opening arranged eccentrically with respect to its central axis. A rotary slide in the region of the slot opening is rotatable about the central axis and has a rotary slide wall with a slot that is substantially as eccentric with respect to the central axis as the slot opening is and is at least approximately the same size as the slot opening. The rotary slide is rotatable from an open position in which the slot opening and the slot are arranged one above the other to a closed position in which the slot opening is covered by the rotary slide wall and the slot is covered by the mouthpiece wall. The slot opening and the slot each extend as a straight line along an axis and have longitudinal edges that make an adjustable angle with one another in the manner of a scissors on rotation of the rotary slide.
