PURPOSE:To shorten cranking time so as to restrain fuel from burning incompletely by turning on electricity to both of glow plugs and an air heater while the connection between them is changed from a parallel one over to a series one at a time of cranking or during a specified period of time after an engine has started. CONSTITUTION:Electricity is turned on to No.1 and No.2 relay coils 6b and 7b by placing a key switch 2 on an ON contact allowing both of glow plugs and an air heater 5 to be quickly heated up. After a specified period of time has elapsed, when an engine start indicating lamp 94 goes off allowing the key switch 2 to be shifted from the ON contact to a ST contact, cranking starts. And then when an engine starts, the key switch 2 is placed on the ON contact allowing No.1 and No.2 relay coils 6b and 7b to be de-energized, and after a specified period of time has elapsed, electricity starts to be turned on to No.3 relay coil 8b. This configuration allows the limited current to be applied to the glow plugs 3 through the air heater 5 so as to effect the function of an after glow system, during which time the air heater 5 is energized. |
