The solar cell battery charging unit has the solar generator (2) fixed by a hinged adaptor (4) directly to the battery (3). The adaptor (4) is arranged eccentrically on the back of the solar generator (2). On the back of the generator is a foot (6) designed to hold the battery flat against the solar array for transportation.
