The multiple cylinder ignition engine is provided with a combination of pistons operating with different lengths of stroke, or a combination of different lengths of stroke and different diameters of the cylinders. The difference between the intermediate axes (3 & 4) is added to the length of the connecting rod, to give a combination of long (6) and short (5) connecting rods. Different diameters of piston can also be used and the piston and cylinder (1) is larger than the piston and cylinder (2). The differences are counterbalanced by the use of counterweights on the crankshaft. USE/ADVANTAGE - It gives more power to high speed engines and slow running engines.
