Two concentric porous terracotta tubes of the same length are fixed by pinch-welding covers of the same material and by firing, thus forming two containers (R1,R2). The internal wall of the inner container (R2) is totally enamelled to seal it and prevent liquid osmosis between the two containers. The water in the outer container (R1) transpires through capillary action through its porous external walls, and evaporates there in contact with heat or wind. This evaporation generates cooling by energy transfer from the liquid circumference in the inner container. The device is installed outside under the influence of solar heating or wind, and if the liquid in the container is extracted by pumping it may be ducted to a convector cooler.
