PURPOSE:To output header information including KANJI (Chinese characters) by converting the header information including KANJI into a picture and sending the converted information together with picture information of a transmission original when no KANJI input output function is provided in a destination G4 facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:An opposite equipment KANJI function detection section 11 detects the presence of a KANJI input output function of a destination G4 facsimile equipment, and when a receiver side discriminates no provision of the KANJI input output function, header information stored in a KANJI header information storage section 13 is converted from a KANJI code into picture information by a KANJI header information conversion section 14. The converted picture information is stored in a picture information storage section 4 as part of picture information together with the picture information of an original to be inputted and they are sent as picture information after the connection of a document layer. Thus, even when the receiver side is a facsimile equipment having no KANJI input output function, a header including KANJI corresponding to the KANJI code inputted from the sender side is included in the output picture of the receiver side. |
