PURPOSE:To embody a machine translation and communication system in which time and traffic before a final translation document is obtained can be reduced compared with those in the past in the case that an unknown word is contained in a part of an original sentence, and the convenience to use of a user about unknown word processing can be improved. CONSTITUTION:In a server computer, a translation is obtained for the original sentence in which there is no unknown word at the time of translation, and is stored in a translation document file (104S), and the translation is postponed for only the original sentence in which there is the unknown word (113S). Besides, unknown word information consisting of a document identifier, the unknown word, and original sentence information is transmitted from the server computer to a client computer (108S), and the client computer shows these to the user, and fetches unknown word registration information, and transmits the unknown word registration information to the server computer so as to register it in a user dictionary file (109C, 111S). After that, the translation of the original sentence in which there is the unknown word is executed (113S). |
