Dielectric tissue and electrolytic separator paper for capacitor

A dielectric tissue (I) having chemical and electrical properties which comply with ASTM D-1930 has a density of 0.5-1.2 g/c.c. and is 4.5-53 microns thick. (I) is made on a papermaking machine from 20-100 wt.% flash-spin synthetic resin pulp fibres and 0-80 wt.% kraft processed unbleached sulphate pulp of coniferous origin. A capacitor paper (II) having chemical and electrical properties which comply with ASTM D-2753 and has a density of 0.2-0.75 g/c.c. and is 20-112 microns thick is also claimed where (II) is opt. unbleached cellulose fibres of stern, leaf or seed hair origin. The synthetic resin from which the flash-spun pulp fibres are made is pref. polypropylene, polyethylene or an ethylene propylene copolymer. Both (I) and (II) are formed from 60 wt.% flash-spun synthetic resin pulp fibres and 40% cellulose fibres, e.g., sulphate pulp.
