ATM CROSS-CONNECTION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To easily and economically provide a large capacity ATM cross- connection circuit. CONSTITUTION:Respective input buffer parts 11 are provided with a small-scale ATM switching circuit for performing the routing of cells in the unit of a buffer part and a control part 25 for outputting cell transmission requests including the destination information of the arrived cells and obtaining transfer information corresponding to the cell transmission requests. Respective output buffer parts 13 are constituted of the small-scale ATM switching circuit for performing the routing of the cells in the unit of a buffer part. Then, the respective input buffer parts 11 and the respective output buffer parts 13 are connected by a small-scale space switch. Also, a common control part 17 receives the cell transmission request and sends the transfer information used for cell transfer control reaching the output buffer parts 13 back to the respective input buffer parts 11.
