摘要 The pincer-action flow control (5) is for the redn. of high temp. in disc brakes. The warm air arising irrespective of the direction of travel as a result of friction at the rotating brake discs (2) is so diverted that it flows with the circumferential flow and modifies the total flow in the region of the discs to improve heat transfer. The air is so diverted in the ground region beneath the vehicle that it becomes available against the direction of travel and main flow for the cooling of the discs of the trailing axle (8). USE/ADVANTAGE - Airflow control for rail vehicle disc brakes reduces temp. differences within the braking system and increases the braking effect on the trailing axle.
