PURPOSE:To obtain a light source of output higher than an end face emission type light emitting diode module by amplifying the output light wide in wavelength band area from the end face emission type diode module, using a laser diode module for excitation and an Er-added optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:This light source is equipped with a monomode optical fiber and a face emission type light emitting diode module 1, 1.5mum in oscillated wavelength area. The output exciting light 5 from a laser diode module 2 is entered into an Er-(erbium) added optical fiber 3 through a photosynthetic wave divider 4. On the other hand, a signal light 6 wide in wavelength band area from an end face emission type light emitting diode module 1 is entered into the Er-added optical fiber 3 through the photosynthetic wave divider 4. Hereby, the signal light 6 wide in wavelength band area is amplified by induced emission principle, and a high-output signal light 6 wide in wavelength band area is outputted from the terminal of the Er-added optical fiber 3. |
