PURPOSE:To reduce burden on an user by switching the informing method of reception corresponding to the degree of importance of a received electronic mail by means of an arrangement in a reception informing level vs. informing means correspondent table or the like. CONSTITUTION:A reception informing level discrimination part 8 checks the contents of the header of the electronic mail from an electronic mail monitor 4 and approves the reception informing level based on the definition of a reception informing level definition table 5. Then, the title of the approved reception informing level (emergency and normal, etc., for instance) is informed to reception informing execution part 9. Also at the discrimination part 8, when the received electronic mail corresponds to the plural reception informing levels, by giving priority to the one with the small numerical value of the priority, the sole reception informing level is decided. The execution part 9 executes reception informing by the prescribed reception informing method based on the approved result of the discrimination part 8 and the arrangement on the reception informing level vs. informing means correspondence chart 6. Thus, the generation number of time of the reception informing can be reduced.
