The armour protection for a vehicle (5) is composed of at least three separate armour sections (6, 7, 8) spaced from each other. A protective matting (8) is inserted into the gap between the outer plates (6, 7) of steel or other hard material. The inner door cladding (11) is a woven aramid or Kelvar (RTM) bulletproof material, with a laminated cladding on the side towards the vehicle interior. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cladding is for armour protection for a vehicle. The system gives improved protection against hard core ammunition, hollow charge projectiles and the like, to prevent penetration and reduce the spread of splinters.
